Report - Developing a Behaviour Change Strategy for Wildlife Conservation: Guidance Note (English)

This guidance note supports governments, project implementers, and wildlife management practitioners in developing behaviour change strategies for conservation interventions, such as those combating illegal and unsustainable wildlife trade, mitigating human-wildlife conflict, and promoting sustainable nature-based tourism.

It sets out foundational definitions of behaviour and behaviour change, and outlines core behaviour change approaches relevant to conservation practice. Building on this, the note presents a practical three-step pathway for designing a behaviour change strategy, enabling practitioners to develop and implement behaviourally informed interventions in a structured way.
